You Should Never Get A Job?
Today I read an article titled 10 Reason You Should Never Get a Job by StevePavlina.com. The title manage to attract my attention as the idea is controversy with what I am hearing since I am a kid. All the while, I keep hearing people telling me to get a job to earn money when I grow up. I heard that jobless is not a good things. Imagine, the idea of never get a job, how could many of us ever imagine this? I have come across many articles like 10 Reasons You Should Start Your Own Business or 10 Reason to become an Enterpreneur, but not 10 Reason You Should Never Get a Job.
I think I need to clarify a bit on my current situation before I continue. I am having a full time job. In fact I have been having a full time job for 6 years. I started having a job after graduated from University. I had been building my competency in computer software industry. In another word, I have developed specialize professional skills. I like my job and I put a lot of efforts in my job. Now I would say that I am getting a satisfactory income from my job. So you may ask, then what the heck you are still reading about this article?
The reason is that I agreed with what the article suggest. If I had it to do all over again, I will focus on building systems that generate income 24/7, especially passive income. However I will still get a job in the initial stage, mainly because I need income to survive. I will build the system in part time basis, then gradually shift to doing it in full time. This is exactly what I am trying to achieve now. I am trying to build my second income to support my main income in case I lose my job. I know that I can lose my job any time. I have no control of what will happen to my job. I am currently doing things like building web site, becoming an investor. My only regret is that I should have started all this 6 years ago or even earlier.
Being self-employed need disciplines and instincts. All the success enterpreneurs trust their own instinct. Getting a job doesn’t need much instinct. This is because in our job we have people telling us what to do. We are normally waiting for our manager to assign works to us. In the long run we lost our instinct. Instinct is just like a radar. It can tell you which direction to go and what to do. Losing our instinct is just like losing the direction in our life.
My instinct tells me building passive income is the right way to go. I’m currently working towards this path. I started only about a few months ago. I hope this is not too late after I have a job for 6 years. I hope I’m intelligent enough to go into this path. Everyday I am thinking of some way of generating passive income. I feel like i’m now turning on the radar that scan for opportunities that can make me side income.

Passive income is king. I remember the first time I had earned $100 by just sleeping. Of course, passive income can be lost quick as well so it is just build build build..
BTW. I like this type Steve Pavlina advice better than all the “mind games”, seems more down to earth.

Sure. I’m just trying to be open to different experiment and ways of thinking and mindset. Those ‘mind games’ may bring different perspective of thinking to us.

It’s great to see pepople open to new ideas especially ones that will make you financially free! I read Rich Dad Poor Dad almost four years ago and had the same sort of epiphany. Except, I just started a business without any job (Napolen Hill said to burn the ships- so we did! lol) I have since sold that business, started another one, and I continue to work toward my goal of financial freedom. But the most important point you made is to keep the job or whatever income you currently have while starting a business. Cash flow is like blood- you can’t do much without it! Any money your business amkes should go back into making the business grow- but you still have to eat! lol Great article- can’t wait to see what you do!
